To keep our classrooms magical, we are constantly finding ways to create experiences that encourage exploration and discovery. The secret to crafting these amazing learning experiences is outlined within our programs, which are powered by the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and our very own Kool Beginnings Curriculum©
Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
At its very core EYLF takes a view of children’s lives as characterised by belonging, being and becoming. It conveys the highest expectations for children’s learning from birth to five years and through the transitions to school. These expectations are communicated through the following Learning Outcomes:
1. Children have a strong sense of identity
2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world
3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
4. Children are confident and involved learners
5. Children are effective communicators.
The EYLF provides a broad direction for our early childhood educators to facilitate children’s learning. It provides guidance in our Kool Beginnings Curriculum © for decision-making and assists in planning, implementing and evaluating quality in our programs.

What would happen if you give your child space to be creative? You would be surprised at the results. Think of the Kool Beginnings Curriculum © as a ‘creative laboratory’ that fosters ideas, individual thinking and confidence. Learning happens when children are given time to process lessons through play. Coupled with the expert guidance of our early learning educators in a fun environment, the children will be empowered with essential life-skills that can help them thrive in society and succeed in life.
The Kool Beginnings Curriculum © has a primary focus on the following pillars:
- literacy and numeracy
- development of individual social and emotional abilities
- solid school-readiness strategies.
The result is a curriculum that provides comfort and support for infants and toddlers alike to develop cognitively and socially.
The Kool Kidz Beginnings Curriculum © Learning Blocks covers 11 developmental areas. Progress in each area is patiently nurtured based on your child’s readiness. This instills the beginnings of confidence and leadership. See more below.
Numbers relate to the development of numeracy skills and mathematical concepts. Children will be engaged and challenged with patterns, counting, sorting and shapes.
Letters & Words relate to communication, literacy, language, reading and writing skills. A vast variety of books are read with the children to develop a love for letters and words. Dramatic play areas help promote role playing, and many forms of print are used as a teaching aid to reinforce how words look and are used.
Many concepts can be taught through music such as soft/loud, slow/fast and low/high just to name a few. Basic understanding of these concepts help young children grasp a wide range of future learning opportunities.
Freshly cooked meals that offer a balanced nutritional diet are provided daily. Coupled with discussions with the children throughout the day on how their bodies function and require healthy food to be strong. Active areas of play include gross motor skills, spatial sense, skipping and balancing skills.
The children learn in natural environments designed to embed the concept of sustainability and are given natural elements to assist their understanding of the Natural World they live in and the care it requires. Teachers also have extended conversations with the children to support their understanding of the world and the environments around them.
Our programs develop strong social skills and children are encouraged to have positive relationships with teachers and friends. This supports emerging communication methods so that children are able to express themselves appropriately.
Kidz Lab relates to scientific discovery and experimentation. Engaging learning spaces promote self discovery and experimentation and assist children in making discoveries for themselves about the world they live in. It also fosters a love a of science which will continue into later years.
Much of our learning occurs through our Five Senses - that's why the children are always given opportunities to explore their senses of touch, smell, taste, sight and sound.
Art is important for free expression as it allows the children to explore and creatively express themselves. By providing children with a variety of drawing equipment and encouragement we improve their finger strength and pencil grips. Both skills are needed to enable children to learn to write.
The children are encouraged to build towers, castles or whatever comes to mind from our wide range both man-made and natural materials. This leads to an understanding of maths concepts, social interactions and builds problem solving skills.
The children are free to dress up and role play from a wide range of cool costumes that could range from fairies to firemen. This fosters a healthy imagination and encourages children to ask questions to further their learning and strengthen their own identity.
To spark imagination and creativity, your child will experience different activities planned by our Educators and may even have an opportunity to meet and learn from a selection of celebrated artists or award-winning professionals from different industries. Your child could even be learning from a real Silat group, meeting a real fireman or even interacting with live animals from a petting zoo right here in the Kool Kidz compound.
